The third and fourth rounds of the fours competition were played in briiliant sunshine today whem ' the N ew Zealand ehampionship bowling tournament entered upon its eighth- day. E. Tyrrell (Mornington), and 0. G. Spearman (Christchurch R.S.A.) who fouglit out the last "Dunedin final in 1944, won their games without difiiculty. A. Logan (Hokonui) won against K Hawortli, the score being 2S — 19. This was Haworth's second defeat. in the fourth round the rink again suffereu defeat. Last year's champion rink from' Tolaga Bay skipped bV G. A. Cruwloy, won the morning game against B. G. iSheard (Woolston) by 37 — 20, this be ing their third win. The Tolaga Bay four maintained their unbeaten recora in the afternoon. S. Vella (Onehunga) has now reeovered from his indisposition and has three wins to his crodit. In fhe third round Vella 's men defeat ed the Kia Toa (Timaru) rink skipped by E. V . Travers, former pairs champion, by 34 — 7 and in the fourth game scoreci another win 33 — 20 against J. C.
