AUCKLAND, Jan. 17. .An SOS to New Zealand to speed shipments of cheese to the United Kingdom has been xeeeived from the British ilinistry of Food. Prompt action has been taken and a radio signa] has been sent to the .Sliaw Savill liner, Wairunga, in mid-Tasman, diverting the vessel from Auckland— where slie was due on Monday to load butter, meat and general cargo for Britain — to New Plymouth to load immediately all the cheese available at that port. It is expected that the Wairunga will then sail for W ellingtoii and load more cheese. No loading figures are yet available, but it is thought likely that the ship will carrv the biggest cheese cargo to leave this country for a long time.
