NAPIER, Jan. 16. Following a series of motor-ear conversions and thef ts in the Hawke 's Bay area in the past weelc, the police throughout the North Island are searcliing for two young Maoris who are believed to be in possession of a small ear which disappeared from Napier on Wednesdav night. On Tuesday night clothing worth about £360 was stolen from dry cleaning premises in Hastings and a car was also stolen in Hastings. An attempt was made to steal petrol from a storage tank at Bay View, near Napier. The thieves, though surprised in the act, escaped but the police recovered two cars, one of which had, been reported missing from Auckland. On Wednesdav the premises of a Chinese at Bay View were entered, and two suits, clothing, and £25 in cash, were stolen. ________
