Over singie stages "oi up to 5500 Hilles." Three of these aircraft are unaer construction at Cowes. They are being biplt for the Ministry of Supply a.t a cost 'of approximately £5,000,000. They have ten jet-propelled engines giving a cruising speed of over 350 UUles hourly- They have two decks eoiineoted hy two spiral staircaseS) two lounges, a cocktail bar, a purspr's office, twd and four berth cahins and a cargo hold. The hull is pressurised • for flying at 40,000 feet, Each plan§ will have a CEew of 14 iucluding two pilots and two engineers, Tlie air- v craft are expeeted to fly late 'next year.
