HABT1-S" GJS, J ciu. 14. The yarding of store sheep at Stortford Uodge to-day was unusuallv small for this time of ihe year, ouly 7000 being offered for sale. Fricds for medium lambs were slightly better than those obtaining last week. A pen ot vcrv good early shorn wether lambs topped the market when they were knocked down after animated bidding, for 28s lOd. There were 140 in the Hue and they were a splendid lot. Top price for grown sheep was obtained for a pen of 84 sizey" 2-th. ewes, the bidding for which quickly reaehed 40s, The market generally showed a lirming tendency. The f'at sheep market generally operated in conl'ormity with the lirming trend in other sections of the sale. Fat ewes ranged in price from 28s 4d down to 22s 4d, f'at weth'ers from 39s ld and 38s lOd to 36s lbd, and fat lambs from 37s 7d down to 31s 7d. There was a very small entry of store cattle for this time of the year, only 65 coming i'orward. There was not a great deal of interest in the offering' thpugh a line of bullocks brought £14 18s. The market for fat cattle was iirm, an entry of 185 good qiiality beasts attracting lteen interest from a fairlv large bench of buyers. A pen of Shortliorn cross ranged in price from £23 8s 6d through £22 18s 6d, £19 18s 6d to £19 13s 6d. This was the best price of the" sale though an entry of 15 priine bullocks, all good heavy cattle, brought £22 13s 6d, £22 3s 6d, £21 3s 6d and £20 13s 6d. Other heavy bullocks ranged in price from £21 3s 6d, £20 13s 6d, £19 8s 6d, £19 ls, £18 16s, £.17 18s 6d, £15 13s "6d to £15 3s 6d for lighter types. Others not so heavy brought £15 18s Gd, £15 ls and £14 Ss 6d. Aq entry of 24 cows and heifers sold at from £.12 ls through £11 ls, £10 13s Gd,'£10 3s Gd, £9 11s, £9 8s (5d to £9 ls.
