Gmith, of Gore, and the firsttWo rams sold by Messrs A. P. Boiitliey and Sons, of Masterton, realised 32u ghs each. The quality ■ of the rams made a ready appeal to buyers and tne attendance ineluded bteeders from all parts of New Zealand as well as reprosentation from Aiistralia. The Warbiirton Estate price came close to b.eing equalled during the bidding on one oi Messrs Brown and Sons' rams later in the sale. This sheep was instan'tly recognised as an outstaiiding sire artd the bidding proeeeded to 700 gns Wheii the sheep Was knocked down to Mr. Wm. Stewart, of Te Awa, Feilding. Another Kiwitea breeder, Mr. T. E. Craine seeured 325 gns and sold another at 300 and three at 200 gns, „and the' Turakina breeder, Mr. B. T. N. Fergusson, obtained 280 gns for one of his offering.
