TRIALS AT AWAPUNI

BRILLIANT FIVES BY GREAT TREK AND PITOITOI Outstanding trials at , Awapuni yesterday included an eleven furlong gailop by the Wellington Cup candidates Broiefield, Langue d'Or and TremeUo, a brilliant five by Great Trek, a mile by Sweet Nymph and Imperial, by Paganini and Sejas, five by Yasda and Sea . i'uijy, ail1- on' tfie plougfi, and a brilliant five by Pitoitoi on the Trial Grfiass; - .-.v"' The plough "was slow but the going on the-.Ti'ial'' (Ji;^8s. vvas fast. They were on terms into the straight and they, were not ridden out to cover the last mile in 1.46, the last three in 39 2-5. Tattersall, Sellars and Boreham are to ride tliese liorses in the Cnp. Paganini and Selas. Next out were Paganini (B. H. Morris) and Selas (J. - Campbell) and Paganini was in front at the finis ti after running the seven in 1.33 4-5, the last three in 42. Great Trek Was Brilliant. y Tben came Great Trek (Campbell). He reached tbe tbree in 25 1-5 and was home without apparent effort to cover

Great Trek, Sweet Nymph, Beau Jewel, Master Garv, Yadoz, Paganini, Selas, and King's Ransom will be at Trentham for their linal work. Horouta, Torrent ancl Winning Ticket. ^Horouta (Tattersall), Torrent (Sellars), and Winning Ticket (Woods) worked well over seven and were timed home from the three in better than 42 to complete in 1.34 1-5. Prince Wanaka Worked Well. Prince Wanaka ( Aitken ) was another to work well over seven wliieh he cut out in 1.33 3-5 after runnmg the first hulf mile in 51 2-5. incident (Tattersall) and Commerciai (C. H. Sweet Nymph (Boreham) and Imperial (Aitken) were never under pressure during their trial and they were not required to do better than 1.47 3-5 for the mile. They were home nicely in 41. L. J. One was tbat- of Pitoitoi (Sellars), the filly brilliantly covering five in 61 2-5 seconds, tbe last tbree .in 37. The other was that of Depeado (W. J. Broughton) and Iloney Dew (J. Ilarris). They eovered three in 37 2-5. Bonifort (D. Oollrns.) and ...tQaptaim Jesse (M. Wright) were schooled over six hurdles and they gave a splendid display of fast jumping. Back in Alf Wright 's stable is Ga} Rouen. lle last started at Trentham in July and the six months' spell appears ,tvo have agreed with.him. . W. E. Pine has again got Playtos.in work.
