POSITION IN AUSTRALIA.
SYDNEY, Jan. 13. There have been nine cases of infantile paralysis in Svdnev in the last 12 davs. Tlie Metropolitan Medieal Officer of Health ( Dr. G-ihanie Drew) said last niqlit tliat any child who liad been in contact with a person snffering from infantile paralysis should be isolated for three weeks. Another suspect case has been admitted to hospital in Adelaide, where the -outbreak is still classed as a ininor epidcmic. Some cases have been reported in widely scattered ai'eas of Queensland ' and West Australia.
