Mrs, Carle presided over a good. attendance of members at the December meeting of the Porouta1 whao Women's Institute, and a Ipleasant afternoon was enjoyed. i Letters were received from the ! institute's link in SCOtland thanki.ing members 'for pardels :ree'eived. A parcel. is posted each month from the institute. In addition members I decided to- make a special cake for ,the institute birthday and to Send it. These parcels are greatly apprej ciated. . I The aftemooh's business was i mainly to discuss the children's ! party. On account of the paralysis } restrictions it was decided to ' aban'don the idea of a party, but ifortunately word was received that jalthough Father ChristmaS would be too busy, Mother Christmas would behappy to assist and save the children from disappointment. ' A§ they could not come to the hall, i it was arranged that Mrs. Ander- ! scn, who had kindly offered to lend her car, would act as cha"uffer,-an'd on Christmas Eve the little folk were delighted to receive a visit from Mother Christmas, resplendent in her scarlet robes, as she made her rounds distributing gifts and sweets to all the children of members:
