The Rumanian .Council of- State, which took over after the abdication of King Michael, has named Professor Coustantin Pafhon, aged 84, as Presidenf, says the Bucharest correspondent of the Associated Press. His duties wiil be ihe same as those the King forinerly exercised. The flag of the new Rumanian Republic will be blue, yellow and ~red arranged vertieallv. The Republic 's emblem — a tractor and a group of three factory ehinineys, with the rising sun in the background — will be ih the ceutre. Wheat ears, bound with the inscription, "Rumanian People 's Republic," will surround the whole.
