THREE ROMANCES STIRRED TWO CITIES

Three new romantic couples — Greer Garson and Louis B. Mayer, Margaret Sullavan and James Stewart, and Hedy Lamarr and George Sanders— have sent Hollywood and New York coiumnists dizzy. Greer Garson and Mayer (her studio boss) are both attending night clubs, theatres, and sports events together in New York. Mayer, recently divorced, began es-

corting Greer to Hollywood pre-. mieres and parties as soon as - her. divorce from Richard Ney went through. ■ , - , James Stewart, Hollywood's most eligible bachelor, has been-in love with Margaret Sullavah since they worked together in summer theatres 15 years ago. Margaret's first husband was Jimmy's best friend, Henry Fonda. Now Margaret has filed suit for divorce fr.om- her third husband, Leland Hayward, and, says Hollywood gossip, Jimmy hopes to marry her when she gains her freedom. The George Sanders— Hedy Lamarr aff air is the most hectic of all. Rumour has it that Sanders telephones Hedy five or six times daily, has asked her to marry him, and take a honeymoon trip round the world. Sanders was recently divorced by his wife. Hedy recently divorced John'Loder — and only a month ago was supposed to be marrying Mark Stevens.
