8YDXEY, Jan. 9. A reduc.tion in pay imposed with the introduetion of "the 40-liour week threatens to preeipitate a shipping hold-up throughout Australia. The Federal Arbitration Court has been notilied of tlie disjmte, in whieh about (1000 men throughout Australia are involved. The Xewcastle painters and dockers sav they will not work after tonight for the present rates. In Brisbane the dockers and painters will ltold a nxass meeting on Runday to dis euss strike action.
