ROTARY'S INTEREST IN NEW ZEALAND GIRL.
Received Fridav, 9.0 p.m. LONDON, Jan. 9. The London and Paddington- Rotarv Clubs have "adopted" June Opie, from Mokau, wh.o has b.een in tSt. Mary's Hospital, Paddington, with poliomyelitis since last April. • Several mem'bers visit her and others send her books and small gifts. June Opie, who came from New Zealand to continue the study of speeeh therapy, had only been in London for one day when she was aflicted and had to b.a placed in an iron lung. At one time her life was dispaired of Jnit sh.e rallied. Then it was thouglit she might not recover for at least 2i years, but sh.e is making such go.od progress that she is able to sit up and it is hoped she may be out of hospital by next .Christmas. She is now the "oldest inhabitant'; at St. Mary's wliere she is known to all patients and nurses as "June". Her regular visitors include IMr. and IMrs. Jordan.
