PAMIR AWAITS CARGO FOR RETURN VOYAGE
WELLINGTON, Jan. 7. The Pamir whieh arrived at Gravesend on December 22, has completed aisch'argi'ng h'e'r cafgo'at London, according to cabled advice received bj' the ship's Wellington agents, the .Shaw Savill Albion Company. The vessei linished discharging wool, tallow and hides by January 5, in 14 days. The future movements of the Pamir are uneertain but shippiug officials said she would now be allotted to an overseas company for loading for New Zealand. A possible eargo is basic slag from Antwerp. Officials stated it liau been considered despatehing the barque to the Sej'chelles Islands in.the Indian Oc-ean to load guano for New Zealand but this had later been deeided against. As the vessei has completed discharge, the Shaw Savill Company,. her New Zealand ' loading agents, are now relinquishing control of the Painir. She reverts baek to Government contror through her owneTs' agents, the Union Steam Ship Company, until she is allotted to an overseas confpany for her homeward loading. A New Zeaiand Press Association special correspondent message that the Pamir may load coal for New Zealand, was referred to Mr. Benney, Under Seeretary for Mines, who said the inat ter was not yet deeided. Actually the Pamir was not a suitable vessei for coal cargoes.
