BRIGADE FIGHTS GORSE FIRE ON RIVER BED
The Otaki Fire Brigade was called out again yesterday, this time to a gorse fire along the rivei'bed, at the rear of Kirk Street. A large area was soon in flames, but the promptness of the brigade, backe'd up by a- good water supply, soon had the flames under contr'ol. Thanks to a number of boys a fire further towards the main road was prevented from spreading.
