LONDON, Jan. 3. In a rugbv union match Australia defeated England by II to nil at Twickenham, before a crowd of 05,000. England was awarded a penalty in the lirst minute but Newman 's kick fell short and a little later Tonkin failed with a similar award to Australia. During the first quarter-liour the Wallabies attacked stronglv. The Ahstralian backs showed far more penetrative skill.
