WORLD'S LARGEST GUN NOW MUSEUM PIECE

LONDON, De/ 30. The shell of Schwere Gnstav, said to be the largest gun in the world, is now a museum piece. It weighs 71 tons and has arrived at the Imperial War Museum, London. Schwere Gnstav was built by Krupps at the end of 1937-. It weighed 1500 tons and was used in the siege of Sebastopol from 1941 to-1942. It took three weeks to erect, whs served by 1500 men and was commanded by a major-general. The estimated life of the barrel which was very long, being made in two parts and ■serewed together in the middle, was 100 rounds. The range was* 28 miles.
