CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER

A charge oi' manslaughter was preferred against Johu iiichard Neylon. aged IM, at a special sittiug of the Magislrate's Court at the Christchurch Cenlral Police Btation on Baturday. The charge against Neylon was that on or about December 26, 1947, at Christchui'i'h, he uulawi'ullv killed Iiichard William Webster, thereby committing manslaughter. Senior Detective F. Brady, who appeared ior the police, asked for a remaud ulitil next Friday inornihg and this was gruuted by the Alngistrate (Mr. II. P. Lawry). On his own applieaiion Neylon was allowed bail at i;2O0 in his own recognisance and Iwg sureties of £201) cach. Accused was ordered to report Lwice daily to the police.
