No Doctor Called to Child It was cle'ar from the medical evidence that any skilled physician c'ould have diagnosed the case and j the child's chances of recovery ! under medical supervision would ; have been favourable, said the I coroner, Mr. w. Wil-' diams, said that a fortnight before j death the child became ill and was I believed to be suffefing from teeth- { ing troubles and croup. Evidence | of visiting his son's house on Sep- I tember 1 and finding Brother Wil- j son, of the Commonwealth Coven- | ant Church, saying prayers over the child which, he said, appeared in a j distressed condition, was given by the infant's grandfather, Mr. E. T. ! Williams, who said he tried unsuccessfully to persuade his son to call f a doctor. Dr. p. p. Lynch said the \ symptoms of diphtheria would have been quite discernible t'o a practitioner and if the child had had ; medical attention he would probably have recovered.
