Personal Miss Rona Haley, of Auckland, is spending the Chri'stmas holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. Haley, Graham Street. Mr. and Mrs. J. Auld and Kevin Astwoo'd, of Mangaore, left on Friday on a holiday visit to Auckland. Major Flood Control Plan Surveys for the major flood control scheme In the lower Manawatu have been continued. Mr. S. G. Long, an assistant engineer, has taken over this work from the sea end and would be kept on the scheme untll it is completed, said Mr. p. G. Evans, chief engineer to the Manawatu Catchment Board, at the monthly meeting of he board last week.
