WELLINGTON, Dee. 18. New rates of wages for agriculturai workers other than those on dairy farms were announced last evening D y the Minister of Labour (Mr. McLaganj. The new rates oi wages were as follow: Farms and Stations. Permanent hands: For workers nnder 17, £1 18s per week and fonnd; 17 but under 18, £2 9s; 18 but und'er 19, £3 ls; 19 but under 20, £3 12s; 20 but uniler 21, £4 3s 6d; 21 years and upwards, £4 15s. No charge shall be made for boara and lodging provided for workers by their employers. In tlie ease of any worker who is not provided with board and lodging by his employer his wages shall be increased by £1 5s per week. Where a worker is provided with only lodging or free house, his wages shall be increased by £1 per week. For example, a man 21 years and over oecupying a house on a farm would receive £5 15s, and a man 21 years and over not provided with' board and lodging or a house on the farm, £6. Casual workers: Harvesters, 3s 3Ad an hour with rations. Other workers, 2s 7id an hour found; 3s l^d an hour not found; £1 ls a day found; £1 5s a day not found. Youths up to 18, ls 9d au hour found; 2s 3d an hour not found; 14s a day found; 18s a day not found. The new rates are payable oa and from November 12 1947a
