The above game was played at l Otaki last weekend, when the home 1 side easily def eated the visitors, which oniy proves how the stand- * ! ard of tennis has improved in the 0 Otaki Ciub. \ I The visitors arrived at 9.30 a.m. r | aird morning tea was served by c i the eliiD members. Play was stopped I at 'neon and the visitors, together t I with some club members, adjourn- i ! ed to dinner. Before the visitors I ! lcft tea was prepared in the club's s paviiion by wrillmg enthusiafsts of 1 I the iiome side. ' At the conclusion of play the \ icaptain, Mr. Colin Atmore, thanked(l] I the members of the Takaro Club j S for their visit and said how all 1 players looked forward to this , | annual match. Already his own 1 team were thinking of the return , jgarne at Palmerston North. He ; I cxpressed his pleasure at seeing oid faces m the team but was just ( ; as plcased to see a few new ones j as well. Mr. A. Butcher thanked Mr. ' Atmore for his kind remarks and said his team had -certainly been well beaten. All looked forward to , j the return game, when he hoped ihey woiiid reverse the result. He said he wishe-d to especially thank 1 the Otaki ladies for the hospitality iexjended to his team. The Otaki !
