motor-cyclist fined for traffic breach Failure to give way to children on a pedestrian crossing cost Colin Arthur Clifton, farm hand, of Reikorangi, £2 when he was proSecuted by the police in the Magistrate's Court, Levin, on Friday. Defendant wrote pleading guilty to the offence. Sergeant W. Grainger told the court that at 12.5 p.m. on October 28, Constable A. T. Kelk was on duty in the vicinity of the Levin Primary School when he saw a motor-cyclist approaching. .There were children on the crossing and the school patrol Was on duty in uniform, and had the "Stop" sign held out. He had made no attempt to stop. There was an "L" plateaffixed tb . the cycle and defendant had only held this licence since October 3. Though he had only been riding a motor-cycle for a short time, defendant should have had sufficient knowledge to know that he must stop at pedestrian crossings, said ■ Ml*. A. M." Goulding, S.M. when imposing the fine. Court costs amounted to 12s. 1
