ON THE HAUTERE RANGE

SHOOTING AT 600 YARDS Last Saturday the Hautere Rifle Club fired two 10's at 600 yards. The conditions for shooting were fairly good, apart from a dull light and a misty shower early in the day. After the usual compulsory sighter and three counting shots had been fired, these two lads were stili even with three bulls-eyes each, and it was. not- until a further shot was fired that D. Wallington niade it four in a row and P. Waite fmished with an inner. D. Wallington thus wins Mr. Cooksley's troPhy. The following are the individual scores, the maui being 46: D. Wallington 44 — 44 — 10 — 92, D. Waite 44 — 39 — 14 — 92, C. Strom 43—44—6— 92, C. Cobb 45— 46— scr.— 91, N. S. Monk 41 — 43 — 8 — 91, F. Freeman 46 — 44 — scr. — 90, R. L. Monk 42 — 44 — 4—90, F. H.
