Received Thursday, 10.25 a.m. NEW YORK, Dec. 10. A big United States Army C54 transport piane, with 29 persons Aiboard, crashed in a snowy wilder-^ hess about midnight, eignt miles north of Goose Bay ' Airfield, in Labrador. There are "no iuiown surviyors." Stormy weather hampered observation from the air by reconnaissance planes from Massachusetts, but scattered and burning wreckdge is reported. Preparations are being made to fly a helicopter to the scene of the crash in a" heavily forested afea. Ground crews set out at daybreak, put they face hard going over rugged countryside. Army' headquarters at Westover field, Massachusetts, said there was heavy snow in the ■ area ana the terrain was so rough that it would take the rescue dog teams all day to reach the scene. A helicopter will drop aid to any survivors and have a doctor parachuted if neeessary..
