COLLEGE UNIFORM IN SUMMER
MODIFICATIONS SUGGESTED Suggestions for the modifieatiop of the college imiform during the summer months were brought forwai'd at th'e morithly meeting of ithe Horowhepua College Advisory Committee on Tuesday" night. It was p'roposed that the b.oys should be* allowed to wear light navy or black gandals and the girls'a navy blue tunic, with whitq blouse, short sleeyes and an 'open shirt neck. This would only mean that- the college would be cpming in'to-line wifh the more progfessive schools in allowing a lighter summer ' uniform, said" the principal, 'Mr. N.'A. Byrne. * / Mr. D. P. Todd said that he would not like to see ^qmdals pn the " boys, as they would ' look "sloppy." They would look better with sandals and rio socks than with' s'ocks badly wor'n, remarked' Mr. Byrne. The mhdific^tipns" would not be introducqd until next summer. * It was decided to appoiht a small Gommittee to investigate "the parents' fpelings in the rhatfer and ihake" a decision.
