In view of the precautions against the spread of infantile paralysis, the Horowhenua Softball Association has decided to suspen'd all games throughout the district, both in the senior and junior grades, until further notice. A "Chronicle" special service message from Wellington states that the secretary of the New Zealand Marching and Recreational Association, Mr. K. W. Kilpatrick, advised today that the North Island marching championships, which were to have been held at Rotorua on January 24, have b.een postponed indefinitely. The ladies' social afternoon, to. have taken place in the Oddfellows' Hall tomorrow afternoon under the auspices of the Levin branch of the Labpiir Party, has been cancelled.
