AIRWAYS DISPUTE BEFORE TRIBUNAL
AUCKLAND, Dee. 9. Members: of the tribunal appointed under the Strikes and Lookout Einergency Regulations to eonsider the dispute between the National Airways Corporation, Tasman Empire Airways Limited and their aircrew radio operatofs on transoeean duties, met_ in Auckland today. The chairman appointed by the Minister of Labour, Mr. McLagan, is Mr. Justiee Dalglish, who flew from Wellington. The disfute concerning wage's and allowances resulted •in a three-day brealc in air service across the Tasman last week. Flving was resumed after the parties had agreed that the dispute should be referred to a tribunal. A draft statement setting out the matters on whicli agreement has alreadv been reached, was considered by the trilmnal and the formal wording of a nuniber of clauses was decided. Tlie clauses included routine delinitions and agreements on hours of work, classification and promotion, accommodatiou, disputes, sickness and holidavs. The tribunal 's decision is to operate from January L 1948, until .Tune 30 1949, with provision that Ihe wages clauses are to apply to Tasman Air wavs employees from April .1, 1947, anc to corporation employees from Novein ber 1, 1947.
