The Kairanga County Council yesterday refused to accede to a request from the Manawatu Catchment Board to make an advance lump sum payment in respect of the administrative rate levied for 194v7-48. It was stated that the council's obligations for the year had been £1185 but that over £300 had been paid off, leaving a balance in the vicinity of £800.
