COLLEGE TEAM GAINS EIGHTPOINT WIN
■ Competition cricket was continued on Saturday throughout the Horowhenua district. The College first eleven scored a handsome win over Otaki to gain eight championship points. College B an'd Otaki secured five points at the expense of Old Boys and College A respectively, while the game between Weraroa and Levin was drawn, rain stopping the match before it was concluded. College v. Otaki Playing bright cricket, the College first fifteen beat Otaki by an innings and nine runs. Otaki had' first use of the wicket and were dismissed for 68, due largely to the bowling of Lambert, who accounted for seven wickets at a . cost of 13 runs. College re'plied- with 120, Lambert topping the scores witht 36. Otaki were again sent to the wicket, but all the batsmen were back in the pavilion for the ad'dition of only 43 runs, Lambert again contributing largely to their low score. Garlick was the only Otaki batsman to get among the runs, making a total of 53 in his two knocks.
