W. 1V1„ King, ssiid that at Country 's request it was agreed to make the Town-Country feature in Wellington in future a threedav match. The profits from this matea would go into a pool to meet the costs of a return tvo-day ganie which would be in tlie country. Hawke 's Bay applied for tlie 1948-49 match at Napier. The Country delegates nientioned that difiiculties were being experienced in fulfilling the new Hawke Cup system of matches which provided for elimination games in the areas, the ulliniate winners to have the right of challenging the cup holders. It was proposed to recoiumend to the next" meeting of tlie New Zealand Cricket Council, that the old system of challenges by associations be reverted to.
