Tlie coal industry is using 170 heavy tanks as open-cast eoai scrapers, and 1000 Bren carriers liave been convert-ed into tractors. I'nsaleable aircraft have been broken up for scrap, and 54,000 alum'uiium hotises liave been built from ihe motai in lliem.
