Lancastrian aireraft now at Ohakea on its routine training flight to the Dominion. New Zealanders were filling key positions in Transport Command, he said, and the othcer coiunuvnding No. 24 Conunonwealth Squadron was a Xew Zealander, Wing Commander D. W. lv. Xicholls. Anotlier Xew Zealander. Grou]i Captain Shannon, of Wellington, was responsiblc for training all pilots in Trans])ort Commaud. No. 24 Squadron is known as VIT5 ( very important persons) Squadron and is always on call to fly to any part of the vorld at a moment 's notiie.
