ACCIDENT AT PARAPARAUMU
Two men were severely burned in the fire which threatened the underground installations at Para-, paraumu aerodrome shortly after 10.30 o'clock on Saturday morning Mr. N. Williams, driver for the Vacuum Oil Company, of 45 Wilkie Crescent, Lower Hutt, was admitted to the Hutt Hos&ital suffering from burns to the head, face, neck, and both hands an'd shock. Mr. J. M. Strapp, driver, of Knight's Avenue, Paraparaumu, was admitted to the Wellington Public Hospital with second degree burns to the far.e, ears, neck, and both hands. He was also suffering from shock. A tanker was refuelling a smaller tanker when the fire broke out. The small tanker was completely destroyed and cdnsrderable damage was done to the bigger tanker and a motor car nearby. The flames spread to a building used for housing pctrol equipment and it, too, was damaged. At no time were any airc^aft or administrative buildings in danger, as the refuelling was being carried on at some distance from the main buildings.
