XEW YORK, Dec. 7. The Sunday papei-s give extensive coverage to the controversy over tlie Louis-Walcott fight as to which man won, but they assert that an appeaf against the decision had no hope of suceeeiling. Sports commentators differ ni their opinions. One said: "The challenger does not often wiu the championship running away except in racing. ' ' The Xew York Times'' writer scored Louis as the winner by nine rounds to six liut said the overall impression waSthat Walcott had done the better job. Protests from fight fans llood tne offices of the State Athletie Commission against the decision. Xo title fight and its outeome has caused such a furore since the famed "long count" bout Detween Gene Tunney and Jack Dempsey 20 years ago. X-rays today showed that Louis 's right hand was not fractu -ed but bgdly bruised. Louis, who is disgust ed with the showing he made, declared with emphasis today. that he would no,t retire from boxing and had authorised his advisers to announce that whatever 'plans he had entertained for forsaking the ring had been abandoned. The United Press says Louis has agreed to a return match with Walcott next June. Aecordiiig to the latest estimate Louis will collect close to 200,000 dollars from the fight, 80,000 dollars of xr from ihe neft gate and the rets from 1ns share of returns from movies, radio and television. Waleott 's aggregate return will be about 70,000 dollars.
