MR. BOSWELL RETURNS WITH NOTHING TO SAY
AUCKLAND ,Dec. 4. After an absenee from Neiv Zeaiand of over tlire.e years, Alr. C. W. Boswell New Zeaiand IMinister to Mo'scow, returned on a visit by the Waiwera. Ht nas accompanied by Mrs. Boswell and her sister, ilrs. B." Forrest, wvho hau been visiting them in Moseow and wht in Oetober, accompanied them to.Eng land. They spent some time in thi LJmted Klngdom bei'ore they began their 'return journey to New Zeaiand. When he was asked to discuss conditions in Russia and the recent critieisiiby the t)pposition of the expenditure on tlie legation in JUoscow, Mr. BosweL said he had nothing to say. He would nol speak about the work of the legation stating that he could uot adil anytJiing to what. was already known. The "receut recall to Russia of thc Soviet ambassador to New Zeaiand, Mr Ziabkin, was also rei'erred to Mr. Bos weil Vvho was asked if he had heard any t-eason for the official's sudden departure. ilr. Boswell said he had not heari unything about Mr. Ziebkin's recall ex •ept that when he left New Zeaiand hi ostablished a reputation for silenee. During the interview Mr. Boswell in timutod that he would not be able tr discuss his mission until he had con sulted the loaders of ihe (Tovernment in Wellington.
