(SPECIAL— FROM
WELLINGTON, This Day. The concluding day of the C.J.C. Cup meeting tomorrow has drawn quality haijdicap class fields and with the slight easing . of the track, horses that failed in the hara going on theearlier . days should. show to .advantage tomorrow. The meeting so far has revealed some outstanding performances, but has not proved to be a meeting at which form has been reliable.
The Canterbury Cup looks the best of good things for Beau le Havre on his present form. Unless Soneri shows marked improvement from her. last week's race Signal Officer will be the main thorn in the champion's side. However, I expect Soneri to race prominently. If started here in preference to the Fendalton Handicap Royal Tan should help to make an interesting race of it. With the changed conditions Salmon Spear, who should be seen to goo'd advantage in the Fendalton Handicap, is now a firm favourite. If Royal Tan's connections decide on this event in preference to competing against Beau le Havre in the Canterbury Cup, then he is sure to supersede Salmon Spear as the favourite. xAnother to come in for solid support after last week's good performance will be Indian Dawn. These three will dominate the betting. Eriskay is not without good lightweight prospects while Gay Stroller is Teaching his best form. His winning turn cannot be far off. Judged on his excellent showing against Howe last week I would say that Lexia is not without bright prospects in the Members' Handicap. The class and 'distance will be to the advantage of Excellency, who, with Broughton up, is
sure to be m strong demand on • both machines. Wantwood's form at the meeting has. been consistent. Blue Trout proved at Trentham that seven furlongs is just beyond her, but if she can make a .good break on the field she might i stick it out. Although she failed to fulfil expectations at Trentham Frances has freshened up nicelyt since then and can be relied on to l make an intereSting race of it. Of the others Wil'd Note may prove the best. He lost his chance at the start on the first day and was not pro'duced last week, so should come up fresh tomorrow. The Woodville Jockey Club and| the Avondale Jockey Club will con- | clude their fixtures tomorrow. I Good fields are carded for both ! meetings, provisions for divisions in | three races having had to be ma'de r at Avondale. Prospects for the three meetings | are: »
