r— "Mayor's Sunday" ' . An invitation to* attend a special service, at St. John's Cathedral on Sunday, December 14, has been accepted by the Mayor and councillors of Napier. "Mayor's Sunday," as it was called, was a recognised custom in England following the election of the Mayor and aldermen. A special church ser- 1 vice followed the procession from the' council chambers. Bovs' Bantl Practices The Levin Boys' Band will hoia its usual practice tonight but it will be an outdoor one, thus conforming with the paralysis precautions laid down by the authoriiiee as necessary. This was decided at a meeting of the band's execufHe last night. Open air practices will continue to be hel'd meanwhile, .but parents will be circularised and asked for their consent. Deer Culler Missing Allan Roy Wood, age'd 24, believed single, of Auckland, employed at deer culling on the Maungataniwha station, Wairoa, appeared on Saturday last. He left camp early Saturday morning to carry on with the culling and when he did"not return two companions organise'd a search, the police being called in yesterday. A Masterton farmer stated today that from his experience of the subject he had noticed that m cases where children had been in contact with dogs suff ering from distemper these children 'developed infantile paralysis.
