SEVENTH YEAR OF ACTIVITY
NATIVE FLORA CLUB'S ANNUAL MEETING The seventh year of the Levin Native Flora Club's activities was terminated with the annual meeting, held recently. Thirty members were present and a number of apologies -were received. Officers for the ensuing year •were elected as follows: — Fresident: Mr. I- D. Parsons; vicepresidents : Mrs'. I.' D. Parsons and Messrs. W. H. Griffiths and J. F. Bryce; hon. treasurer, Mr. W. W. Leach; hon. secretary: Mrs. WDuguid; hon. auditor: Mr. J. A-. Goodwin. -- A pleasing feature of the meet^ ing was the election of Miss L. B. Moore and Dr. G. Cone to honorary life membership in recognition of their ready and valued assistance to the club. It was felt that both these ladies. had thoroughly identified themselves with the club's activities, and their election to honorary life membership was a gesture of gratitude and welcome. Members are looking forward to a combined outing with the Wellington Botanipal Society on Deeember 6, and those desiring to attend are askqd to notify the secretory. ■ . ^ A slight change was made 111 the dates of future meetings. It was decided to hold the monthly rneq^ings on the fourth Thursday of each month, but when a visiting lectqrer i& coming, this would be made fhe oecasion of an additional meeting. There will he no monthly meeting in pecemb.hr, but J anqary arrangements include an oqfing on the 18th, members' evenin.8 on the 22nd and a lecture by Pr H. H. Allan on a date to be arrang,ed later.
