XAP1JSK. Dl'r. 1. A full elearance at advanced pricet resulted at Napier today when the lirst main sale of the season was patronised by a large and representative muster of b'uyers. Opening bids were from 6d to oue shilling better tlian the Novembei opening last year. This paee was maintained throughout y day of solid selling. Bidding was by no nieans limited lo oue section as at the crutching sale, a group of Continental iirms, notably l'reuch and to a Jesser extent Belgian i:u( rcsts, nionopolised the bidding foi stylisli wools but New Zealand mills had extended limits as well and purcliased many of the tbp price lines. Bradford operated spasmodically but less so when the market was required for average style wools. The ofiicial report issued by the Ilawlce's Bay Woolbrolters' Association states that bidding was fairly general. Oontinent and locai mills dominated the market for Jiner sorts. Average style wool sokl on a par with recent saies but bidding was inciined to be ratlier erratic. There was praetically a total elearance of all catalogues. Thc following is the-oiiicial range of prices:— Extra Jine crossbred, 5U/56's: Good to super 28d to 341d, average 25s to 27 id. Pine crossbred, 50 's: Good to super 28(1 to 33d, average 25d to 264d. jMedium crossbred, 46/50 's: Good to super 24Ad to 28d, average 21} to 23';fd, inferior 19d to 21d. ytrong crossbred: Good to super up to 24d, average 22d to 23d. Low crossbred: Good to super u|)" to 25d, average 221d to 24d. Eine crossbred, hogget 50/54 's: Good to super 28d to 32 Ad, average 26d to 271&. Eine crossbred, hogget (shorn) 50/ 54 's: Good to super 32d to 38d, average 26d to 28d. Medium crossbred, hogget, 46/50 's: Good to super 27d to 29d, average 24 ld to 26d. , Medium crossbred hogget (shorn) 46/ 50 's: Good to super 23d to 25^d, average 214 d to 23d.
