It is genorally known in Austraiia that Xew Zealaiul is partially depehd eiit on the C'ommonwealth for certain textilesv notably nien's suitings, and is certainly not as well equipped to supply her ow n needs as Austrulia. Irate citizeiis are already demanding explanations for this sharp contrast aud are alleging that Xew Zealand is receiving priority in textiles urgentl\ needed to relieve sliortages witliin the Coinmonwealth. The reeent wheal agreement still rankles with many Australians, who claim that it has nevei been justilied. They demand to be tohi the reasons for the favourtd treatnien, of Xew Zealand and for the diftering outlook between the two eountries. Olhers point ont that Xew Zealand has had coupou-free petrol for over a year now, while Australian inotorists are being fnrther cranqied with restrie tions.
