CALF CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP.
HONOURS TO MOUTOA GIEL In perfect weather conditions at the Feilding raceeourse on Friday the Manawatu-Oroua Division of the Boys' and Girls' Calf Club' championship was flnalised. This year the competition attracted some 900 entries through the schools in the Manawatu-Oroua area and just on 100 of the best came forward on Friday for the final' judging, which was undertaken by Mr. M. D. Murray, of Woodville. Two Moutoa children, Leonie Carter and George Woodmass, who represented the Foxton School, had a very successful day when competing in the senior calf class only. They scored the most points for the day over the whole competition, which included junior and senior calves, yearlings, two-year-olds ahd mature cows. This was the Moutoa children's first entry in the competition. Their successes were as follows: — Champion of champions: Leonie Carter's "Winsome." Care in rearing cup: George Woodmass' "Charm" 1, Leonie Carter's "Winsome" 2. Pedigree calves, dairy type': Leonie Carter's "Winsome" 1, George Woodmass' "Charm" 2. In senior ring craft Leonie Carter was placed second. This must be considered an outstanding success on the part of these two young Moutoa children.
