AUCKLAND, Xov. 30. A liglit started on deck ou the Devonport Steam Ferry Co.'s vessel •Muritai while 500 passeugers were waiting to diseml ark at the Matiatia wharf, Waiheke Islaud, this morning. The master, who was about to put up the gangway, promptlv restored order with the lielp of a police coustable who was a passenger. The contestants were warned and all people were cleared from the wharf but a second fraeas in which about eight people were involved started after wards on the shore end of the wharf. Two young women, who were arrested and brought to Auckland in a police launch, will be cliarged in the Magistrate's Court.
