LADIES' COMPETITION

Playing at the Manawatu Women 's Bowling Centre pairs tournament at Palmerston North, Mesdames Lett and Gardner (skip) and Mesdames Forster and Lacey of the Levin Ladies' Club, won one and three games respectively. There were 33 entries in this tournament and some very close and interesting matches were played. Gn the Levin green the first round of the singles championship has been completed, resulting in the following holding two lives: Mesdames Forster, Gibson, Lett, Lacy and Gardner. Only two games have been completed in the second round, the winners being Mesdames McKinstry and. Stevens. All players in the various championshps are asked to finalise their matches whi'ie- the fine weather lasts. Play in the Lett Brooches pairs matches resulted in a win for Mesdames Nichols and Stevens,. (skip) . New members are making good progress and it is pleasing to note their keen interest in the game.
