II WORK OF MR. BURDEKIN AS I MAYOR S He felt that some useful work I had been done by the retiring i council, said the Mayor, Mr. H. B. 1 Burdekin, at the conclusion of | business at last night's meeting of I the Levin Borough Council, when j extending his thanks to members 1 for the support they had given I him during his term of office. He I deeply appreciated the support | they had given him, and felt sure I that during the ensuing three I years more good work would be i done. His thanks were also due to ! the executive officers and staff, I who had shown so much eoi-opera- | tion with the council. ! Mr. Burdekin extended his conI gratulations to the incoming coun- | cil. He expressed his regret at the loss of the retiring members of the council. At Mr. Burdekin's request the council unanimously decided to place on record appreciation of the services of the retiring memI bers, and made speeial mention of ! the work done by Cr. F. E. Parker ) and Cr. Miss H. E. Bowen. | Councillors paid tribute to the | Mayor's service during his term of I office, his able chairmanship and I hs integrity and ability in dealing I with important matters.
