SCHOOL PUPILS' CONCERT
AFTERNOON PRESENTATION Another enjoyable afternoon ■ concert was held i'n the Raukawa Hall recently, when children of the Otaki State SchOol presented a large programme to a packed hall. The sum of £6 8s 3d was coliected and added to the proceeds of the shop day conducted by Form II pupils, making a total of over £35 for special purposes. Each class performed i'n a most admirable manner, while the ■ behaviour of the audience, consisting as it did largely of .children, was exemplary. As each class completedits itemsthe headmaster, Mr. J. E. James, thanked the children, who were given rounds of applause. The following is the detailed programme presented by the children: — Lower infants. — Songs: "Fly Away Home Little Birdie" and "John Brown's Farm." Verse: "Bounce the Ball," "Cold Old House," "Seed Song," "Piggie Wig" and "Polly Parrot," the latter in pnQtnm p Middle infants. — Song: "Gay Musicians," in which four small boys took solos. Verse: "The House that Jack Built." A folk dance was contributed by the upper infants of the school. Standard 1. — Song: "The Cow." Verse: "Washing" and "Six Little Mice." Standard 2. — Song: "Skye Boat Song." Sketch: "The Old Lady." Standard 3. — Songs: "Mama at Night," "All Roun'd the House" and "The Child's Complaint." Verse: "Overhead on the Salt Marsh" and "Song of the Sea." Sketch: "The Tramp," a play without words. Standard 4. — Sketch: "Action," a play composed by the class. Form 1. — Play: "Get up and Bar the Door." Maori items: "Hine e Hine," "Ta Hine Taru Kino," "Awhi mai ra,"'1 "Whakaronga," "E mihi" and "Hoki."
