WELLINGTON, Nov, 15, It was not prop'Osed to deelare next Thursday, the wedding day of Priucess Elizabeth, a public holiday or to ask business premises to close down for any jiart Of that day, said tlie Brime Minister (Mr. Fraser) today. He said the oeeasion eould be niore iittingly eelebrated by a liberal display of flaga and bunting on that day. Government ' buildings ' throughout New Zealand would fLy flags and bunting on Thursday and loeal bodieS and business people were asked to assist in making ao liberal display. By this ineans we could show the Princess and Lieutenaiit Mountbatten that the people were all sliaring witli tliem and with the King and Queen and other mexnbers of the Royal Family the "joy of this happy day, and once again demonstrate the loyalty and alfection of the Government and people of New Zealand to the Throne. Mr. Fraser asked that this announcement be taken by those concerned as a formal request to them to arrange bunting and tiag displays and to take any otlier action whieh in their own localities thev might think fitting to marlc this important day in the life of the heir to the Throne.
