Empty Immigrant Ship Found On Beach

Received Monday, 11 a.m. JERUSALEM, Nov. 16. It is officially believed that between 150 and 200 immigrants lanaed l'rom the ship Aiiya on the beach ai Naharia, north of Haha. Tiie Aiiya was tound empty this niormng on the shore near Ras en Maqura, which is close to the Palestine-Lebanon frontier. Tne Jewisn coiony of Naharia is ten miles south. of Ras en Naqura. It is reported that Haganah lorries awaited the immigrants ai the landing spot and took them to tne Jewisn seitlements. The Navy intercepted last night a second snip, ihe Kadinja. Two desiroyers escoried the Kadima to Haifa and the Navy boarded the vessel without ineident. Reuter s correspondent reports that tne police lound aboard the Aiiya American Army blankets and American tinned food, as well as charts and documents. A general army and police alert has been ordered ihroughout Palestine. At dusk this evening tne Runnymede ParK sailed for Cyprus with 781 oi the 794 Jewish megal immigrants disembarked from the Kactima. Four women and one ehiid were taKen to hospital and eiglii oi' their relatives were allowed ashore. JewLsn sources said that most of tlio.se who got ashore from the Aiiya were aged between 18 - and 20, and were speciaily trained for beaciiiiead landings.
