WOMEN'S SECTION OF R.S.A.

NOVEMBER MEETING HELD There was a fair attendance at the November meeting of the women's section of tne Shannon Returned Services' Association, held in Laurvig's Hall on Saturday evening. Mrs. C. Guerin presided. It was decided to hoid the children^ Christmas party on December 6. Owing to several members of the section being ill on Rose Day, very few roses were sold. However, it was decided to endeavour to sell the remainder during the week. The usual competitions were held, Mrs. Sinclair winning the bloom competition, with Mrs. Third .second and Mrs. Johnson third. A .guessing competition was won by 'Mrs. Johnson, with Mesdames Young and Sinclair equal- for second. A competition for the child's prettiest apron was won by Mrs. Johnson, with Mesdames Sell, Third and Young equal for second. Competitions for next month will be for the best oven cloth and. the usual bloom competition. Mesdames Guerin and Johnson were the hostesses for the evening.
