Personal Mrs. G. Fitzgerald, who has been holidaying in the Auckland dis•trict, has returned home. Poutu Pah Improvement Funds A weekly card ev.ening is being conducted each Monday in Laurvig's Hall to raise funds in connection with the Poutu Pah improvements. The first of the series was held last Mon'day, when there was a good attendance of players. Prize-winners were Mrs. E. Thorne and Mr. D. Harris. R.S.A. Christmas Party The secretary of the local R.S.A. advised members on Saturday evening that he had received word from the women's section that it intended hol'ding another of its popular Christmas parties this year. The date set down at the moment is Saturday, December 6. Final arrangements are yet to be made. R.S.A. Parcel Appeal The secretary of the local branch of the R.S.A., Mr. E. J. Gunning, advises that donations to the parcel fund are still coming to hand. Recent donations are from the women's section of the R.S.A. £10 and Mr. E. J. Spencer 10s. The branch has already dispatched three lots of parcels to the families of needy .ex-servicemen in Fyfe, Scotland These amounted to £107 2s. The first consignment of 44 parcels was paid out of R.S.A. funds, while the other 88 were paid from the special fund raised by public subscription. At present this appeal has raised £116 15s.
